Good news for UAE residents! The government imposed new rules regarding travel requirements to GCC countries.

Usually, UAE residents are required to bring their passports to visit GCC countries. This requirement is no longer valid. Now, UAE residents only need to carry their Emirates ID to enter GCC countries. The regulation also applies to GCC citizens who will enter the UAE by only bringing their state issued smart ID cards. This regulation aims to make easier for citizens to visit between countries.

In addition to the UAE, two other countries, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, also announced the same thing that their citizens can enter GCC countries by bringing their identity cards, and GCC citizens also only need to bring their identity cards to enter those both countries.
